Contact and NPC Ally

Doc Delilah appears as an NPC Ally in a Penelope Yin's mission, and one of her own missions. Do we have a precedent for handling this? -- StarGeekTalk page 11:27, 14 October 2006 (PDT)

NPC Ally info

She appears to be an Invulnerability/Super Strength tanker.

  • Class: Pet
  • Faction: Dept. of Archeology

Background

Doctor Delilah Stein was born with her Herculean strength and incredible physical resistance. She fought evil as a heroine for a time, but eventually found her real calling: History and Archeology. Now she combines her past life and her education into a new career as an historian of meta-human history, and an archaeologist of the unusal. Dr. Stein recently began investigating the hero bases lost in the destruction of Overbrook, looking for clues to fill in the history of pre-Rikti war heroes and villains.

Introed by Jim Temblor

It didn't already say so in the article, so I added it: Doc can be given as a contact by Jim Temblor, completely bypassing Penelope Yin. This has happened to me at least twice, possibly more times. I think what happens is, if you outlevel Penelope's range before completing the final mish given by Jim, you are denied access to Penelope as a contact (despite what it says in the Penelope Yin article) but Jim will then give Doc as a contact. I believe this can happen even if you've outleveled Jim before completing his story arc, but I know it's happened to me at least once that I outleveled Jim before completing the arc, and was denied Penelope and was completely unable to get Doc as a contact.

Unfortunately, I can't update the Jim Temblor article to match because I don't recall the verbage of the dialog in which he offers Doc as a contact. Balkaster 16:05, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
